Brazil

The world’s largest producer, with roughly a third of global output. Lower altitudes, mechanised harvests on large farms and mostly natural or pulped-natural processing give nuts, chocolate and caramel, the backbone of espresso blends. High-altitude specialty farms and new varieties such as Arara are increasingly impressive.
